Finishing Week 3
Yay week 3 is over! But the work is piling on!!
On Tuesday, I taught the first lesson of my “All About Me” unit. Basically, I showed the children a picture of my family, and we talked about who lives in my house. Then they were to draw who lives in their house. Most of it was a success, besides the kids who started drawing Gingerbread houses and spiders.
On Wednesday, we had our...
Week 3
Yay for Mondays off! Thank you, Dr. King!
Today was a fun day. I did calendar/weather time, and I taught a math lesson about the ppl in our families. I even brought a pic of my family to show the kids. It was fun. I think they liked it, but the started drawing their dogs and friends. But as long as they counted them, it was okay. The drawings were cute though. :-) Mostly scribbles only a teacher...
Finishing up Week 2
Day 8: Still practicing
We still continued to practice for our Gingerbread Man play. It’s gonna be great when it’s over. The only thing I’m worred about, is that the day parents come the children will have a total 180 and not sing, just stare at me blankly. They’re kinda doing that as it is at this point. I did however bring in my keyboard today, and they really enjoyed...
WEEK 2! Day 6 & 7
Day 6: Not againnnnn….
It was REALLY hard waking up today!! :-(
During the weekend I worked putting together the song for the Gingerbread Day and tried to fit in some lessons for my actual unit. I don’t meet with my supervising teacher til Wed., so I didn’t want to plan a lot just to have her tell me it all sucks and needs to be revised!
The kids and I also practiced the...
Day 4 & 5
Day 4: Not as tired anymore!
So I did wake up earlier hoping to go back to bed in case of a snow day. Apparently the school district has amazing snow plowers. No snow day! On my ride there I realized how spoiled I’ve been the past 10 years. SXU was so close, and even though this isn’t much farther, my regular 15min drive turned into 35 almost. Dumb snow and 87th Street .. boo!!

Day 3
So I decided I should probably blog about student teaching. One day I’ll be able to look back and think.. awesome or omg that sucked looked where I have come.
Day #1: First day!
…was reallllyyyy cool. I wasn’t too nervous just kinda anxious and I definitely could not sleep the night before. I had met the teacher and kids a month ago, but going in there full on is a different...

The Story of Grandmother
Delarue has selected “The Story of Grandmother” from a Manuscript in the collection of A. Millien. The tale was told to Millien by Louis and Francois Briffault, at Montigny-aux-Amognes, Nievre, about 1885. The notes to the tale are those of the...

Moral:
One sees here that young children,Especially pretty girls, Polite, well-taught, and pure as pearls, Should stay on guard against all sorts of men. For if one fails to stay alert, it won’t be strange To see one eaten by a wolf enraged. I say a wolf since not all types are wild, Or it can be said to be the same in kind. Some are winning and have sharp minds. Some are loud or smooth or...

The lack of communication at this job frustrates me. You can tell no one communicates when the same directions are given twice by two different people. Us student workers should only answer to one person. Just like the computer on Galaxy Quest.
Labor Day Weekend
Yay my Labor Day weekend didn’t suck. On Fri., Evan and I had a date night. We watched Wall-E and Miss March and ate some Chinese food. :) Sat. was a lil lamer. I went to work and then sat at home doing homework. But it had to be done! Sunday was suuuch a long day. The Zabawas and the Sieczkas went to Utica. We watched ship go through. It was cool seeing hydraulics pump water out. It was...
